2nd Sucks!!!
Everytime at McDowell Mtn I finish 2nd place! Today I competed in the DCB Time Trial event, the plan was to win, but it was not to be. It was a great event all around though and my buddy Matt Noble made his Cat2 debut with a solid run! So for TT we each got our own start and it was a clean run the wh0le way. But without knowing what your competitor is doing, just like in the NASA-TT, you just have to put down the hammer and hope for the best. The race for me was an exercise in sheer determination as I haven’t been riding at all recently, I didn’t ride once a week before the event! So needless to say, my legs didn’t have much power and my lungs no endurance. With more events left in this championship it’s anyone’s to win, so I think I’ll start riding more!
17 down, 3 to go!

It was another great weekend at the track! 2 wins, drove 3 different cars and zero spin outs. Saturday, I had to put in 2 runs to get my best lap of 1:13.2 which is a shocking 1.8 off my best lap time, but it was good enough for the win. The recent changes I’ve made to the exhaust system to pass the AMP sound limit were killing my engine power. Since, I wasn’t able to switch back at the track, I prepared for another hard fought battle between my championship competitor Mervin Tan and myself on Sunday. It was a blast running so close on track, yet able to still give each other space to run fast times and be done in 3-5laps. I was able to snag the win again with a 1:12:9, but only by .1! Too close for comfort, so I’ll be making my exhaust switch improvements before the next event. Only 3 more events left in the NASA-TT season so the plan is to win all 3!
DCB TT Series Training @ McDowell Mtn
What a day to go riding! It was a nice cloudy day on the trails as I was riding to prepare for the upcoming DCB Adventures TT Series starting October 9th. Fortunately, for a guy like me who doesn’t like to spend hours training each day this series is just right for me! Each race is only about 3-4 miles and I will be done in time to compete in the Cat2 race, or help tap the keg! I posted my Garmin data, so you can see how slow I am.
5 weeks left, I guess I should start training!
With a little over 30 days left before the DCB Dust Devil Mtn Bike Series starts I figured this week would be a good time to start training, better late than never? This year I am planning on competing in all the events in the newly formed Time Trail class. I am trying to get a good mix of mtn biking and road riding, hopefully I won’t be dead last!
If anyone wants to kill me on the trails or generate more watts up South Mountain, hit me up!
A week late…what can I say?

2 days, 2 wins. It was great event, but certainly a tough fight for the wins. The track was hot and slow, with everyone about .5- .7 off the track records. Unfortunately, it affected me too as the best I could muster was 1:07 flat. It was another busy weekend helping other drivers push their limit. I worked with my DE2 crew but still made time to hangout with my inaugural class, now in DE3/4 for a bit. Fresh competition in a strong car with a fast driver joined the TTD party. The track records I have been beating this year were held by a very fast Nissan 240, and now it’s in the hands of another capable driver. With a best time of 1:07.5 by the Nissan, it is clear the battle will fierce throughout the remainder of the year. Unfortunately again, I know I can improve on my car and the driver combination! Next event isn’t until October, so I have started my mtn bike fitness regimen in preparation of the upcoming DCB series.

From 6-1030am, both Saturday and Sunday I will be @ Firebird West for the NASA-AZ event. I will be competing in the TTD class as I now look to build on my new points lead. I broke the track record there in March; 1:06.53. So the goal is to improve on that and win both days.
I will also be mentoring the HPDE 2 drivers and we get our own run group so I can really help my drivers get up to their comfort level.
Where will you be?

Just got back from the 5k running event. My goal was to finish under 24minutes. I finished in 23min 59sec! Given I haven’t run in like 6months or even competed in a running event in a year I was pleased with the result.
